It seems as if the Ground Hog was wrong. This tree is blooming and has been doing so for more than a week. We passed it again today on our way down to the river, my wife and I.
Ol' Man River is swollen and muddy, it's higher than usual at this time of year, filled with driftwood and debris. It's likely that we are in for some serious flooding in a month or two when the snow starts melting upstreams.
It has been a beautiful day, perhaps 65 degrees and clear skies.
The river is wide. If it weren't for the swirling currents it could easily be mistaken for a lake.
I'm not the only one waiting for winter to be over for good. A couple of boats were out, just drifting along or maybe the people were fishing from inside that cover.

But most people were taking a walk or jogging or just sitting near the water to get a bit of a tan, perhaps.
