I believe that the Crab Nebula will be my all time favorite of astronomical objects. To me it carries so much of the wonder and awe, that I feel at the greatness of our Universe. To realize that we, human beings, and almost everything we see and use, every kind of metal for example, originated in such an explosion of the first generation of stars is beyond what I can fathom.
Just a happenstance? I don't think so.
