Wednesday
I'm spending my day in the shop.
The clock that I'm working on is infested by wood worms. I know that it is fondly considered as proof that the piece is antique. But old furniture, where lots of fresh flour-like powder keeps coming out of the wormholes should definitely be taken to a place that fumigates furniture. Otherwise there is no guarantee that the bugs aren't still alive and well inside the piece and what is perhaps worse, the infestation can spread to other places in a home.

I tapped lightly on a cross board and this little heap of wood "flour" came out. Way too much to be dismissed as old damage.

A board that is supposed to carry a bit of weight is like a sponge. I'll try to inject some glue into the gaps.

Tuesday
I went to the Home Depot to get some fertilizer and grass seed in an effort to rescue my lawn - which is almost beyond hope - before my neighbors start signing a petition.
While there I couldn't help taking a few snapshots of the flowers, which they are selling already. These pictures are dedicated to my friends in Ohio and northwards:
Have hope, Spring is neigh!

I like marigolds, my wife doesn't. We don't have marigolds :)

I also like hibiscus, too bad they can't take the few frosty nights we have.

With my profound knowledge in the flora, I can say without hesitation that this is a red flower.

There will soon be BlueGrass in Collierville again
thewhizzer, my Australian friend talked me into uploading short movies to You Tube. I have had fun re-discovering my old films, all too huge to be used in their original format.
Here is a clip from 2006
Thanks Mick

Sunday morning
This bird, a crow cousin of sort, was leading the birds in unison song, I would advise him not to give up his daytime job, though.

Click on the image and judge for yourselves.
The film is out of focus, I am sorry
This little fellow is inspecting his domains.

The Robin is doing his stuff, a bit absentmindedly as usual.

The Robin's nest is empty still, but she will come back, she has been using it for five years.

The bamboo is sprouting already. I have a love / hate relation to it, it is spreading out of control and its root system makes it hard to get rid of it in the flowerbeds. I almost need an auger to make a hole for my plants.
