What's going on a Saturday afternoon?

A mom is taking a photo of her son.

A wedding in the Methodist church, next to the park and pictures are taken
by professionals and family members as well.

While others just enjoy the Indian summer in the park

It seems to be a perfect Saturday, perfect for a walk

The firemen can relax for a bit, too.

The market is open.

A young citizen holds on to the essentials in her life.

Why does this remind me of Jack Nicholson in "As good as it gets"?

The brake man left the caboose a long time ago.

Wishing this kind of human endeavors would be more in focus again.
It's a very small planet we all are sharing, we need a wider perspective.
As always.

We went to Collierville for dinner this afternoon, as usual. It's almost a ritual on Thursdays.
There's a small, laid back restaurant run by Chinese immigrants, they are the best.
In their buffet we found exactly what we love, egg rolls for my wife, meat loaf for the old one.
And cobbler with ice cream for dessert.
As I snapped a picture with the timer, a couple happened to pass at the very right moment and oh, well, it wouldn't have been that great a photo anyway.

The place was almost empty today and the angle for the picture isn't great either, but I like the warm colors.

An old Stage Coach rest stop, built in 1851. I don't think this is where it used to be, but the building is authentic.

Halloween is not far away.

The setting sun shone through the Methodist church and made it look like it was on fire inside.

A German author, still actual
Read parts of his Biography

"What I find particularly embarrassing are films about artists. Most films about artists must be made by people who would have paid Van Gogh not even an ounce of tobacco for a picture but only half an ounce, and later would have regretted even that because they realized he would have sold it even for a pipeful of tobacco. In films about artists the suffering of the artistic soul, the poverty and the wrestling with the demon, are always put in the past. A living artist who has run out of cigarettes, can't even buy shoes for his wife, is of no interest to film people because three generations of nincompoops haven't yet confirmed that he is a genius."

--The Clown

Heinrich Böll

( I had to look up "nincompoop", I guess that makes me one.)
